START CAPACITOR

The starting capacitor uses aluminum foil as the dielectric, which is wound with electrolytic paper and immersed in electrolyte. An explosion-proof device is set inside the product. When a fault occurs inside the capacitor and the pressure rises to a certain level, the explosion-proof device will automatically open to release the pressure, preventing the capacitor from exploding. It is a capacitive component used to assist the starting of motors, compressors and other equipment. By instantly providing additional current or changing the phase, it helps the equipment quickly reach the normal operating state. Its working time is short, generally only playing a role in the starting moment. After starting, it may be disconnected by a centrifugal switch or other devices or turned into an operating auxiliary state.

Common specifications include 110V-165V, 220-270VAC, 300-330VAC, etc. To ensure safe and reliable operation, the rated voltage of the selected capacitor must be higher than the actual voltage peak in the circuit. It is generally recommended that the rated voltage be 1.2-1.5 times the actual working voltage to cope with power grid fluctuations and surge voltages. The service life of the starting capacitor is affected by factors such as the ambient temperature, voltage fluctuation, and starting frequency. Generally speaking, for every 10°C increase in working temperature, the capacitor life is approximately halved. In equipment with frequent starting, the internal medium and electrodes of the capacitor will age faster due to repeated charging and discharging.

It is suitable for air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water pumps, fans, air compressors, electric drills, electric saws and other equipment. When maintaining or replacing the starting capacitor, the capacitor must be discharged first to avoid electric shock hazards caused by residual charge.
